​​British film editor Joe Walker is best known for his long-standing collaborations with two of today's leading directors - Steve McQueen and Denis Villeneuve. Trained as a classical musician, he has applied his rhythmic and compositional talents as a film editor to Hunger, Shame, 12 Years in Chains, Sicario, Arrival and Blade Runner 2049. His work has been recognised and nominated for several prestigious film awards, including the 2022 Academy Award for Best Film Editing for Dune. His films with McQueen and Villeneuve exemplify Walker's experimentation with cross-cutting and flashback structures, including his careful work with the use of score and sound design.
